“For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold], and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold], and that He appeared to Cephas (Peter), then to the Twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, the majority of whom are still alive, but some have fallen asleep [in death].”
AMP 6-15:3 1 Corinthians
“If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.
For “WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD [in prayer] WILL BE SAVED.””
AMP 10, 13-10:9 Romans
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].”
AMP 8:1 Romans
According to these verses, a simple prayer for salvation would be:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe in my heart that You are Lord. I believe you died on the cross, was buried and rose from the dead. I now confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. From this moment on I will turn from my sins and allow You to fill my heart. I believe I am forgiven and set free of all guilt and condemnation. Thank you, Lord, that I am now saved and belong to you. Help me to see and recognize you, and to walk in your ways from this day forward. - Amen
